Spatial Data Science in the Cloud using Python

Spatial Data Science in the Cloud using Python In-Person

About This Event

Spatial Data Science is a growing field across a wide range of industries and disciplines. The open-source programming language Python has many libraries that support spatial analysis, but what do you do when your computer is unable to tackle the massive file sizes of high-resolution data and the computing power required in your analysis?

Join us for this 3-day workshop (August 13-15, 2024) sponsored by NSF ACCESS (https://access-ci.org) to learn spatial data science and how to execute your analysis using high-performance computer (HPC).

This in-person workshop series assumes you have learned the basics of Python, but if you haven’t, please register for the Python Fundamentals class on July 30th.

No prior geospatial or HPC experience necessary.

Who: Graduate level researchers, faculty, staff, and industry professionals aiming to conduct spatial data analysis using HPC resources. Affiliation with Rocky Mountain Advanced Computing Consortium (RMACC) is desired but not mandatory (see https://rmacc.org/about-us).

Where: Morgan Library room 173

When: August 13th-15th at 8:30 AM – 12 PM

Cost: $90 (Registered students will have their admission fee covered by our sponsor).

Breakfast, coffee, and tea will be provided!
