Not all journals are created equal. During this half-hour workshop, we will teach you how to recognize the warning signs and protect your valuable work!

As the landscape of academic publishing evolves, it's crucial to be aware of deceptive practices that can compromise research integrity. By the end of this workshop, you'll be equipped with the knowledge and tools to make informed publishing decisions, ensuring that your research is published in reputable venues. 

During this workshop, you will learn how to:

  • Assess journal credibility by evaluating website quality, editorial board legitimacy, and publication practices.
  • Identify deceptive publishing practices, including misleading peer review claims, fake indexing, and unethical APCs
  • Apply trusted tools to verify journal legitimacy and make informed publishing decisions.
