Open Licenses 101: Empowering Access and Reuse (Half-Hour Hacks) Online
Are you interested in sharing your work openly but uncertain about which license to select, or whether you can reuse someone else's work?
In this 30-minute workshop, we'll break down the essentials of Creative Commons (CC) licenses and other standard open-source licenses, helping you confidently navigate the evolving landscape of copyright. Whether you're a researcher, educator, artist, or developer, you'll learn how open licenses support collaboration while protecting your rights.
By the end of this session, you'll be able to:
- Understand how open licenses work within copyright law.
- Identify the permissions and restrictions of different license types.
- Respect and reuse licensed content and code responsibly.
- Choose and apply the right license for your creative or academic work.
