DESCRIPTION:About This Event\n\nAccessibility in Mapping Hands-on Workshop 
 Presented by London Walker\, GIS Developer\, Colorado Office of Information 
 Technology.\n\nAccessibility reduces barriers\, physical or electronic\, 
 allowing access and interaction to information\, services\, or physical 
 spaces. Accessibility also extends to the GIS world\, making maps and 
 mapping applications accessible to anyone who might use them\, with regard 
 to colors\, text and fonts\, alt text\, legends\, and navigation 
 tools.\n\nIn this workshop\, London Walker\, CO-OIT\, will present on 
 accessibility challenges in the GIS world\, best practices for overcoming 
 them\, and attendees will explore techniques in ArcGIS Online to create 
 accessible maps and web mapping apps\, such as symbology choices\, pop-up 
 configurations\, widgets\, and more.\n\nThe State of Colorado recently 
 enacted a law requiring all public entities within the state comply with 
 accessibility protocols. This includes offices\, websites\, documents\, and 
 MAPS. Even if you're not a state or local government employee\, now is a 
 great time to learn what this means and how to implement it in your own 
 cartographic products.\n\nPre-Requisites\n\nFree\, but registration 
 required. Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops\, or use a 
 library laptop. We will be using ArcGIS Online: you may use your own
